 Dr.
Pieter de Wet, MD (pronounced deVet) practices integrative medicine involving
all health sciences from a holistic approach to create wellness and to educate
patients, students and listeners in the applications of allopathic and
alternative medicines. Dr. Pieter
J. de Wet has been intimately involved in the development of numerous wellness
and chronic disease programs through the University of Texas Health Center at
Tyler, Texas, while being founder and director of the
Quantum Healing Institute and Day
Spa.
The
Doctor was the director of the Center for Nutrition and Preventive Medicine at
UT Health Center from 1995-1997 until he went into private practice. Dr. de Wet
is the official spokesperson for the American Academy of Family Physicians
Foundation Nutrition Team and the American Dietetic Association for the State of
Texas on the subjects of Nutrition and Disease Prevention. Dr. de Wet has
received his fellowship through the American Academy of Family Practice and is
currently Board Certified in Family Practice. He is also chelation certified and
board eligible. Dr. de Wet is Board Certified in Holistic Medicine through the
American Holistic Medical Association and currently is one of the first
Physicians in the United States who is Board Certified in Holistic Medicine.
 Formerly, Dr. de
Wet was Associate Professor of Family Medicine at UT Health Center at Tyler and
Associate Program Director of the Family Practice residency program. He is board
certified and he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice. He is a
member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians. Numerous
behavioral modification programs have been designed by Dr. de Wet, including the
"Healthy Lifestyles" Long-term Adult and Youth weight management programs.
Dr. de Wet joins Frank Jordan on Healthy, Wealthy and Wise to focus on you and
nutrition, integrative medicine and chronic disease management including the
treatment of Obesity.
