Are You Immuno-Compromised?

Are You Immuno-Compromised?

When a person is immuno-compromised, their immune system defenses are weakened and not functioning normally, creating a vulnerability to what seeks to damage our health.  Immune cells such as macrophages, T-cells, B-cells, antibodies with immune organs and lymph nodes and other components make up the body’s immune system.

The immune system defenses of about 20 trillion immune cells are effective weapons to destroy invaders in the body (non-self), including defenses to protect you against pathogens such as common colds, bacteria, viruses, parasites and cancer. When immune system defenses are below normal, an individual becomes immuno-compromised and more susceptible to infection.

Your immune system in good condition is essential to a quality life. A compromised immune system is unable to successfully combat health challenges by inability to recognize, respond and resolve often resulting in getting health challenged often and recovering slowly.

Immunodeficiency can be acquired from many different sources and if unresolved over time, the body diminishes in strength and vitality with organ difficulties in providing body functions. Sadly, because poor lifestyle choices are a major contributor, a majority of Americans are almost certainly immuno-compromised at present.

If you are immuno-compromised you do not have a disease.  If you do not change the oil and filters on your car, your car is incapable of running smoothly, but your lack of care, not the car, has created a condition that impairs proper performance.  Substitute “your body” for “car” and “healthy lifestyle” for “oil and filters” and you understand immuno-compromised.
